Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions? Here are the answers to the most common things people ask about Bella Eleni Art, resin clocks, crystal wall art, custom commissions, and more.
About the Art
What are your pieces made of?
Every piece is made with premium UV-stable epoxy resin, authentic hand-selected crystals (smoky quartz, angel aura quartz, amethyst, clear quartz, and others), acrylic "diamond" rocks, fire glass, metallic accents like gold leaf, and high-quality pigments.
Are the crystals real?
Yes, always. Every crystal in every piece is 100% authentic and hand-selected. Typically, sourced from local gem shops in Austin, Texas! You'll never find fake crystals in Bella Eleni Art pieces.
Why does each piece look different?
Because each one truly is one-of-a-kind. The way resin flows during the pour, how crystals settle into the surface, and how metallic pigments interact - none of it can be replicated exactly. Even I can't make the same piece twice. That's part of what makes resin art special.
What type of resin do you use?
I use premium UV-stabilized epoxy resin that resists yellowing over time. Cheap resin turns yellow within months of sun exposure - the resin I use is specifically formulated to maintain its clarity and color for years.
How long does it take to make a piece?
Most pieces take 5 to 8 days from start to finish. Each layer of resin needs 24 to 48 hours to cure before the next can be added, and quality pieces require multiple pours. A complex geode piece with detailed crystal work might take the full two weeks.
About the Clocks
Do the clocks actually work?
Yes! Every clock features a high-quality silent quartz mechanism - no distracting tick-tick-tick. They keep accurate time and run on a single AA battery.
Can I replace the clock mechanism if it wears out?
Yes. Each piece is designed so the mechanism can be swapped out if needed. Standard quartz clock mechanisms are widely available and easy to replace. Contact me if you're needing a replacement, and I'll send you the ones I use.
How heavy are the clocks?
It depends on the size, but a 20-inch resin clock can weigh 5 to 10 pounds. All pieces come with appropriate hanging hardware. You may need a wall anchor for larger pieces - a standard nail might not be enough.
Crystals and Energy
What crystals do you work with?
The most common crystals in my pieces include:
- Smoky Quartz - Grounding and protective. Absorbs negative energy and promotes stability. Great for living rooms and home offices.
- Angel Aura Quartz - Peace, serenity, and joy. Rainbow iridescence that shifts with the light. Perfect for bedrooms and meditation spaces.
- Amethyst - Spiritual awareness and intuition. The classic geode crystal. Beautiful in bedrooms and creative spaces.
- Clear Quartz - The "master healer" that amplifies energy and intention. Works anywhere.
Can I request specific crystals?
Absolutely. If you want rose quartz for love energy in a bedroom piece, or black tourmaline for protection near your front door - I'll source exactly what you need. Just reach out and we'll talk about it.
Custom Commissions
How do custom commissions work?
It starts with a conversation about your space, your colors, your crystals, and the vibe you're going for. From there I put together a design concept and quote. Once approved, a deposit secures your spot and I get to work. I send progress photos throughout the process so you can watch your piece come to life. Read the full commission guide here.
How much does a custom commission cost?
Custom commissions typically start in the mid-hundreds and go up based on size, crystal selection, and complexity. You'll always receive a clear quote before any work begins - no surprises.
How long does a commission take?
From initial conversation to delivery, expect 3 to 6 weeks. The creation itself takes 1 to 2 weeks depending on size and complexity, plus shipping time.
What if I don't know exactly what I want?
That's completely normal. Most commissions start with something like "I know I want something for my living room but I'm not sure what." I'll ask questions about your space, your style, and what draws you in - and we'll figure it out together. Send photos of your room, Pinterest boards, paint swatches - anything that helps me understand your vision.
Do you send progress updates?
Yes! I send photos throughout the creation process so you can see your piece taking shape. Before shipping, I'll send detailed photos in different lighting conditions so you can see exactly how it looks.
Ordering and Shipping
How do you ship resin art with crystals?
Very carefully. Each piece is wrapped in soft material, cushioned with foam and bubble wrap, and placed in a sturdy box designed to prevent any movement during transit. These pieces have weight and texture that need proper protection. Each piece is shipped with insurance incase damage outside of my control occurs.
How long does shipping take?
Domestic shipping typically takes 5 to 10 business days. International shipping is available with adjusted timelines.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, international shipping is available. Contact me for a shipping quote to your location.
Care and Maintenance
How do I clean my resin piece?
Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth - that's all you need. Never use Windex, bleach, or abrasive cleaners on resin.
Can I hang it in direct sunlight?
I use UV-stable resin, but prolonged direct sunlight can still fade colors over time. Choose a wall that gets indirect or ambient light for the best long-term results. Near a window is fine - just not in the direct path of sun all day.
Is resin art heat-sensitive?
Resin can soften at very high temperatures, so don't hang it directly above a fireplace or radiator. Normal room temperatures are perfectly fine.
How long will my piece last?
With basic care, quality resin art holds up for decades. The UV-stable resin resists yellowing, the crystals are natural stone that won't degrade, and the metallic accents are sealed within the resin layers.
Returns and Policies
What's your return policy?
Because each piece is one-of-a-kind, all sales on custom commissions are final. For pieces from the existing collection, contact me if you have any concerns. I want you to love what you receive!!
What if my piece arrives damaged?
Contact me within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage and we'll find a resolution. Every piece is carefully packaged, but I understand things can happen during transit.
